Heat generated by eddy current is used in Induction cookers. In induction cookers, heat is directly produced in the cooking vessel. The cooking vessel shall be of ferromagnetic substances .In this device, there is a coil of Copper underneath the cooking vessel. When an AC is passed through the coil, an electromagnetic field will be produced around it. This field induces an elctric current in the vessel. Such induced current is called Eddy current. The current thus formed will be of high frequency. This produces a resistive heating. This type of flameless cooking has many advantages and limitations also.
